I didn't grow up with pets. I was too sensitive and allergic to just about everything.

Yet that never stopped me. At every family gathering, you would find me with the animals, not the people. I just "got" them. It was an inner knowing of what they were feeling and what they wanted. I could see spirits from a young age too, animals and angels. They were my friends, and they never frightened me.

It worked until it didn't

I still did the expected thing. College, then a corporate job. It worked until it didn't. I was living out of alignment with my purpose, and my body let me know. A rash all over my face that wouldn't clear. Panic attacks. Crying all the time. My sensitive soul was not built for corporate. So I started healing myself with reiki, integrated energy therapy, aromatherapy, and past life regression. Along the way I realized this was the work I was meant to do, and with animals.

As a teenager, I wanted to be like everyone else, so I pushed my gifts down and did the "normal" things. It worked for a while. In my twenties, two bonded rescues, Ali and Katie, switched my intuition back on almost overnight. Then came Floyd. Floyd was my heart dog. He taught me everything. I would see pictures in my mind and know exactly what he needed. It's all about that third eye connection, settling your mind long enough to actually receive what they're sending you.

The Fern & The Fox was created

Right before Christmas in 2014, I left my job and opened my own practice. It's not easy to come out of the spiritual closet. By January 4, 2015, I had my first client. I knew it was meant to be. I'm now in my eleventh year. In 2018, The Fern & The Fox was born, and I added my intentional essential sprays and curated crystals, because I'm all about bringing nature into your home so the whole household benefits.

The ones who guide me

Ali, Katie, and Floyd have all crossed over, and they're with me every day in spirit, helping me with this work. Today I have Finnegan, Finn, a sweet rescue from Manitoba. Finn brought my gift of clear hearing online. I actually hear him speak to me now, and he holds space for me while I work. This is my purpose, and it brings me joy every single day. It isn't always easy to carry these gifts, and my soul signed up for it, and I'm grateful for all of it.

What I believe

Your pet doesn't fully heal in isolation. When the household calms, the animal calms. I'm here to be the change, and to help your whole family become the change too.

What it's like to work with me
